Peggy Honoré, DHA is the AmeriHealth Mercy-General Russel Honore Endowed Professor at LSU Health Sciences Center, School of Public Health. Since 2005, Dr. Honoré has received support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to advance a field of study in public health finance. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice and developed finance issues for the journal in 2004 and 2007. She is also an Editor for Frontiers in Public Health Services and Systems Research. Her other areas of specialty are public health quality and workforce education. She currently serves on the Association of Schools of Public Health Education Framing the Future: The Second 100 Years of Education for Public Health Task Force. Previous finance leadership roles include Financial Analyst for Exxon Company USA, Regional Controller for McDonald’s Corporation, university Vice President for Finance and Administration, and COO/CFO for a group of four medical clinics. Dr. Honoré has a Doctorate in Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina and Master of Health Administration from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
