Katie Sellers, DrPH, CPH is the Senior Director for Research and Evaluation at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO).  ASTHO is the national nonprofit association representing and supporting state and territorial health officials and their agencies.  Dr. Sellers is responsible for the design and supervision of research and evaluation projects at ASTHO, including the 2007, 2010 and 2012 ASTHO Profile Surveys.  Recent projects have included assessing the impact of budget cuts on state public health agencies, estimating the cost of the state public health response to the H1N1 outbreak, and reporting on the use of fiscal intermediaries by state public health agencies.  Recent publications include the ASTHO Profile of State Public Health, Volumes One and Two (available on the ASTHO website at www.astho.org), two articles on the adoption of Quality Improvement initiatives in state public health (January 2010 and January 2011 issues of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice) and an article on the structure and function of state health agencies in 2001 and 2007 (American Journal of Public Health, July 2011).
